Follow the adventures of Alonso Quijano, a gentleman who reads so many books of cavalries that decides to become a walking gentleman under the name of Don Quijote. It recruits a simple farmer, Sancho Panza, like his squire, who often uses a unique, earthly ingenuity in dealing with rhetorical prayers of Don Quijote on an outrageous cavalry.

Don Quijote meets the world as it is, initiating issues such as intertextuality, realism, metatero and literary representation.

Published in two volumes, in 1605 and 1615, Don Quijote is considered the most influential work in the literature of the Spanish Golden Age and the entire Spanish literary canon.

Quijote is a founding work of modern Western literature, and one of the first canonical novels, which appears regularly at the top of the lists of the greatest fiction works ever published.

He has had great influence on the literary community, as evidenced by the direct references in Alejandro Dumas in the three musketeers (1844) and Mark Twain with Huckleberry Finn adventures (1884).

In 2002, Don Quijote was appointed as the "best literary work that has been written."
